Delivering fresh starts since 2022

Eagle's renovation jobs don't look like a typical Treasure Valley remodel. Between the estate homes around Two Rivers and Banbury Meadows, the 630 homes in Lexington Hills, and the acreage and horse properties stretching north of Beacon Light, a lot of what comes out of these projects is higher-end material, outbuilding debris, or both at once.

Boise Construction Debris Removal handles renovation cleanup across Eagle, and the sorting looks different depending on which part of town the job's in.

What usually comes out of an Eagle remodel

In the newer subdivisions, expect higher-grade finish material: solid cabinetry, stone or tile countertops, hardwood flooring, light fixtures. A lot of that still has life in it, and donating it beats paying to haul it off and landfill it.

On the acreage and horse properties north of Beacon Light, renovation jobs often drag along old fencing, outbuilding scraps, and sometimes barn material that didn't start out as part of the house project at all. Downtown and Old Eagle along State St tends to turn up older trim, doors, and flooring from homes that have been added onto over the years.

Scrap metal, old plumbing fixtures, and appliances are worth pulling out separately rather than tossing in with everything else. They go to a different place than the rest of the load.

Where it actually goes

Ada County Landfill at Hidden Hollow, off Seamans Gulch Rd in the North Boise foothills, is the facility most Eagle renovation debris ends up at. It's a short drive from Eagle via Hill Rd/Hwy 55.

It takes construction and demolition debris, clean wood, concrete and asphalt, scrap metal, mattresses, and e-waste. Tires and Freon-containing appliances go in too, but each carries its own disposal fee. Household hazardous waste is accepted free Friday and Saturday there, and Eagle also runs a quarterly HHW drop-off at the West Eagle Park & Ride if the landfill's schedule doesn't line up.

What it won't take matters just as much: out-of-county loads, hazardous waste mixed into regular trash, treated or painted wood headed for the wood-diversion pile, and untitled campers, trailers, or boats. That's why a load gets sorted on site before it leaves — clean wood, metal, and concrete separated from everything else — and why loads have to be tarped or secured for the drive out, per county ordinance.

  • Clean, untreated wood diverts separately from painted or treated wood
  • Scrap metal and concrete/asphalt are pulled out, not landfilled with mixed debris
  • Tires and Freon appliances carry their own fee and go through a separate line
  • Out-of-county loads and untitled trailers/boats are turned away at the gate

Where people trip up

The biggest one: assuming a Hardin Sanitation cart or the city's bulky pickup can absorb a renovation job. It can't. Bulky pickup is built for a few large household items, not a gutted kitchen or a torn-out deck, and Hardin's carts won't take Freon appliances, tires, batteries, or electronics at all.

Second: skipping the permit question. The City of Eagle requires a building permit for removal or demolition of a residential or commercial structure, and if a dumpster's going to sit in the street, sidewalk, or shoulder, that's ACHD right-of-way — it needs its own temporary use permit.

Third, especially on the acreage lots: burning the debris pile instead of hauling it. Eagle Fire allows burning only when air quality is at or below an AQI of 60, piles are capped at 3 feet wide and 2 feet tall, and construction debris, treated wood, and tires are illegal to burn no matter the conditions.

Eagle renovation debris isn't one-size-fits-all — what you've got and where it needs to go depends on the house, the lot, and the materials involved.
